Flavor Profile
Tea Song black tea offers malty richness with red berry notes and a warm honey-orchid fragrance. Its layered sweetness and aromatic depth make it equally delightful as a cold brew.
Black Tea Leaf Characteristics
Harvested during the prized spring season from ancient tea trees over 300 years old, these large, flexible leaves unfold smoothly when brewed. The spring harvest produces the richest flavors, with natural sweetness, minimal astringency, and complex character unique to Jingmai Mountain black tea.
Blang Ethnic Group
The Blang people’s deep reverence for nature is reflected in their sun-dried black tea processing, which preserves natural flavors, nutrients, and aromatics. Tea Song’s traditional sun-dried method enhances its distinctive profile and ensures graceful aging when stored properly.
Location on Jingmai Mountain
Grown at the peak of Jingmai Mountain (5,249 feet), these ancient trees benefit from a cooler climate, slow leaf growth, unique soil, and rich biodiversity. Together, these conditions produce a black tea with refined sweetness, delicate aromatics, and a prized, nuanced flavor profile.

Would buy again! This Jingmai red had beautiful long leaves that were packaged well with the metal canister during shipping. The taste is malty and fruity. Red berries and honey notes galore!

My love for tea goes way back 55 years when I was nearly 7. My Father was not a coffee drinker and he would brew us hot tea after a cold day of gathering firewood. This black tea goes way beyond those days with an aroma of orchids, and on my first sip, I taste notes of sweet honey. This tea is so well rounded. It’s my favorite of the sampler pack.

By far the highest quality tea I’ve ever had! These are the longest tea leaves I’ve ever seen, taking 5-10 seconds to steep, which you can do multiple times with the same leaves. I even cold brewed some tea with this, which came out on the sweeter side. While it does get maltier if you over-steep, the tea never got bitter, which was really cool.

I was lucky enough to enjoy some of this tea and it is one of my favorites. I drink a fair bit of Yunnan red/black teas and this one stands out for its complexity, mouthfeel, and steeping ability. Rich, malty, some complex stonefruit notes, and a long lasting honey sweetness draw me back again and again to this tea. Really really good!

Highly recommend this tea! It’s extremely smooth, mellow, and has some delicious undertones of honey. This tea warms and grounds me every time I drink it. Delicious!!
